Who can stay at our house?

Any family with a child under the age of 18 or an individual being followed by a pediatric service and being treated in Galveston may be referred for admissions through their hospital/clinic case worker.

How much does it cost?

No family is ever turned away for inability to pay thanks to the generosity of caring individuals, companies, and organizations.  We want our families to be able to focus on their child’s welfare without worrying about paying for lodging and food.  Our House is supported by donations from corporate and individual donations, foundation grants, and McDonald’s store “round ups” of customers’ bills and donation canisters.  While we never require a family to pay to stay with us, we welcome any donation a family is able to make, and we gladly accept payments from family's insurance. Although we suggest a $10 per night donation, it actually costs $150 per night to house a family.

About our House

We are located within five blocks of the medical centers, and our non-profit house literally runs on volunteers.  While staying at our House, we consider you and your family valued volunteers also.  We depend on you to help us keep the House orderly and clean.  All of us have small daily responsibilities from cleaning up after ourselves to help keep the community areas nice and bright.  We expect the caregiver to stay with the child at all times while in the House for their safety.

            Check-ins:                   9:00 am to 8:00 pm
