Volunteering Opprotunities

Our Ronald McDonald House is a 20 bedroom home.  We have a large kitchen with two dining rooms, 3 family rooms, 2 laundry facilities and a playroom.  We are in the process of adding on a much needed play areas inside and out and administrative offices. 

Individual Opportunities
Volunteers play a vital role in making the Ronald McDonald House of Galveston a home for our visiting families.  They help with a variety of tasks, all daily operations of the House.  Duties include giving tours, interacting with families, answering the telephone, prepping bedrooms after the guests checkout and helping with miscellaneous housekeeping chores as needed.  Volunteers are asked to work a 3 hour shift per week.

Art Classes
Volunteers with special skills such as arts and crafts or other talents are invited to share their time at the Ronald McDonald House on a project basis.

Group Projects
Groups that wish to be involved at the House can prepare an evening meal for 40 to 50 residents.  Other group volunteer opportunities include organizing holiday and bingo parties or ice cream socials.  Arts and crafts projects are very popular activities with the families.

Speakers Bureau
Volunteers are needed to speak on our behalf at local organizations.

Volunteer Dinners
